Welcome to the online home of The Bathurst Harvest Festival
The Celebration of Harvest dates back to the times when success of the crops governed the lives of the people.
When the harvest was in, a celebratory supper was held in which the whole community was invited.
Celebrating Harvest Festivals in churches began in 1843 in England, when the Rev. Robert Hawker invited parishioners to a special thanksgiving service at his church at Morwenstow in Cornwall. This led to the long-practised custom of decorating churches with home-grown produce.
Bathurst in April, over the Anzac Day long weekend, will celebrate harvest time in the Central West with a festival for the senses, showcasing our district’s abundant food and wine, and celebrating our history, and our musical and artistic heritage.
Three wonderful days of indulging ourselves in all that is good about where we live.
A Magnificent Buffet of epicurian events Great food, wine, music, fun & great company
BON APPETIT !!
